The school boasts of a well-stocked library with an impressive index of titles, covering fiction and non-fiction, periodicals, magazines, and newspapers. Students are encouraged to make full use of these facilities in order to inculcate a love for books and the habit of reading from an early age. Internet facilities are available for research and study. The libraries are managed by highly qualified personnel and have thousands of age-appropriate books.
To explore the hidden talents in child, various co-curricular activities are organized in the school campus. To promote healthy competitions and sportsman spirit among the students, the entire school has been divided into four houses namely Azad, Bose, Bhagat Singh and Sukhdev. House meetings and inter house competitions are conducted regularly on Wednesdays and Saturdays respectively. The main activities and competitions are Calligraphy , Elocution, Poster making , Solo and group dance, Kite making and flying , Rakhi making , Diya decoration, Mono act, Mimicry, Greeting card making , Fancy dress, Quiz , Clay modelling , Science model , Rangoli, Athletic events , sports events , Games etc.
A healthy mind resides in a healthy body. . . Physical fitness helps in achievements in academics. Sports boost self-esteem and reduce pressure and stress. At OIS, we aspire for excellence in everything including sports. Sports education not only teaches the students to maintain the physical stamina but also the habit of obedience, discipline, determination, resilience and team spirit. Sports are an integral part of the educational experience at OIS. Our NIS (National Institute of Sports) qualified sports coaches help the students to explore and develop their talents. Their continuous support and motivation has helped the sports champions to achieve success not only at state but national Level as well. Students who are part of the school team attend the morning practice in the school for extra training and fitness. Above all, our sports persons has always made us proud by winning commendable positions in almost all the tournaments in which they have participated.
